I am thrilled to share the heartwarming journey of Luc and Suze, who have just achieved the milestone of becoming first-time homeowners in the beautiful Marathon, Florida. Guiding them through this process was not just a professional endeavor but a personal mission filled with patience, perseverance, and profound joy.

Overcoming Challenges with Determination

From the outset, Luc and Suze faced significant hurdles, particularly concerning their credit. Recognizing the importance of a solid financial foundation, we embarked on a comprehensive credit improvement plan. Through consistent effort, education, and unwavering commitment, they transformed their credit profile, turning a dream into an achievable goal.

Leveraging Local Support for First-Time Homebuyers

Understanding the financial challenges of purchasing a first home, we explored available assistance programs. The City of Marathon offers a First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program, providing up to $20,000 in down payment assistance loans to qualifying low and moderate-income individuals and families. These loans are interest-free, require no monthly payments, and offer prorated forgiveness over 30 years.

Additionally, Monroe County participates in the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program, which offers up to $45,000 per home in assistance, secured by a 30-year, zero-interest note and mortgage. This program is designed to make homeownership more accessible to income-qualified residents.

By tapping into these resources, Luc and Suze were able to bridge the financial gap, making their homeownership dream a reality.
